All I have listed is default. The data for default says "datfile".
NoOpen & Perceived Types are not listed. I do not delete 'keys'
such as .dat unless I am completely cleaning out a program.

I search on datfile and that is where I end up. Your datfile key must
be missing if a search doesn't find it. Here is my complete entry:
If I double click on a .dat file I get this message, 'Error executing
the program'. But as I mentioned, I right-click dat files and select
my editor to open it.
