Took me a while to find. On a PC:
C:Documents and Settings--name--Application
DataThunderbirdProfiles--random number--.defaultNewsnews.provider
find
alt.comp.freeware.dat
Close Thunderbird.
Open the .dat file (I use jujuedit)
Add this:
version="8"
logging="no"
name="Tramp"
enabled="yes"
type="4"
action="Mark read"
action="Delete"
action="Ignore thread"
condition="OR (from,is,Tramp)"
Repeat the block for as many others as needed from this ng.
Save the file.
It will not filter against what you have already got but it will stop
the rest. If you want to see none, unsubscribe, clear the folder where
the .dat file is (keeping the .dat) of the ng .msf file then redownload.
