I was just having a bit of fun. I'm not sure how you could do it in
Xnews, but maybe someone else here knows (or google for xnews forums.)
In my $ware news client (Agent4.2) it's a matter of changing an entry
in the agent.ini file from a blank value, which defaults to the
"4ax.com", or to any text you want, as I did with the
"for.john.sumner" MID.

Actually, one *shouldn't" really play arouund with MessageIDs as a
matter of complying with RFC standards and to avoid the extremely
remote possibility of MID duplication.
