I can only get satellite internet here "in the bush" and it is quite
expensive - $30/month for a 500MB download limit at the slowest speed,
256/56 I think. I think it's over $100 for 2G. I regularly go over my
limit and get cut back to dialup speed. The other day I changed all my
email checking, several accounts, from every 10 minutes back to 60
minutes (and 4 hours for my gmail account). I have also started closing
my email programme and only opening it when I'm at the pc. Since then
I've had quite a drop in usage and I don't think I've done anything else
different on the net.
