Any further clue at all would be helpful please. I installed latest
VLC. Using the Firefox add-on 'Download Helper' I downloaded the RAM
file, devon_thebarton_4x3_bb.ram from that site I linked.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/videonation/articles/d/devon_thebarton.shtml
I dragged the RAM file onto VLC. It played the soundtrack - but no
video. I used View|Messages and saw this:
---------
main error: cannot pre fill buffer
live555 error: Nothing to play for
rtsp://rmv8.bbc.net.uk/videonation/d/devon_thebarton_256.rm?BBC-UID=b423925258602f41341cb56601d1e6b1ba9174ee70384090f2f0dc36916c41c5&SSO2-UID=
main error: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `RV30'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format.
---------
Mostly incomprehensible to me.
Can you get my example into VLC with your setup? I see there are many
settings, mostly baffling to me. Are there some critical ones I need
to alter?
