Your firewall's log-file should be able to provide information about
which programs were connecting to the internet, and where they connected
to. It is likely that you will discover that the activity is probably
something mundane like and open email program connecting to a POP mail
server, an automatic update function on one or several of your installed
programs, or activity between your computer and your ISP. Its probably a
good idea to run an anti-virus and anti-malware scan to alleviate your
concerns.
