Duplicate emails is a common problem with bulk email or large files &
is usually related to timeouts.
Try this, open up Outlook Express or Outlook.
Tools > Accounts > Properties > Advanced > Server Timeouts, set at 2
minutes 30 seconds.
Click Apply & OK.

Make sure there is not a check mark next to > Leave a copy of messages
on server.

Put a check mark in the box Remove from server after 1 day.
Put a check mark in the box > Remove from server when deleted from
"Deleted Items".

If you interupt OE during the download of a message or messages, you
will get duplicates.

Tools > Accounts > Mail, select account > Properties > Advanced tab >
Sending, uncheck > Break apart messages larger than 60 KB.
Or,
Disable Background Compacting and frequently perform a manual compact
of all OE folders while "working offline".
