- perhaps you are being facetious or sarcastic
- given that you actually changed the subject, I think you're serious
- assuming that you are serious, then I suppose/hope that you can
provide us with a set of guidelines about your perceived 'requirements'
for labeling OT posts or posts which drift OT from the OP or those which
drift OT from the topic drift which preceded the newest offtopicness^1
^1 What I mean is, separate from the subject of initiating a new thread
with a new message which is labeled OT, is there also a rule or
guideline for adding or appending OT to a subject whose initial thread
was on-topic for the group, but from which the replying poster has
chosen to remark or contribute in a manner which is *not* ontopic; that
is, should s/he 'fix' the subject with the OT appendix? In this case,
the original subject was actually offtopic, but consider the occurrence
of starting a subject on topic and/but then the respondents go/drift
offtopic.
And then, supposing that the topic drifter has appended the subject so,
then does that mean that if another respondent comes along and drifts
offtopic from the drifted OT theme, should that secondary drifter then
append OT to the existing OT, which would be something like:
Subject: Re: humming [OT] [OT2]
... or what exactly is the recommended protocol for the fallen floating
leaves to follow as they drift down the stream of life or consciousness?
