And maybe there is something special for you in

You can also leave the Installer, and using the files in the archive
(updates) seperately.
They are all standard-MS updates, so far I know. Using the Installer
might give you some features (the sp-maker did) you did not want. As I
have met so :-(
But I changed with that specific PC to DOS/NT, leaving that desastrous
WIN9x/ME :-) (I have tried once again :), bez I would like to see the
DOS 7.10 of Win98SE. But after a crash in DOS I changed to DOS ;-))
