Then anti-virus and anti-spyware progs are not freeware and any program
that requires updates to stay fully functional. In many cases, these
programs require daily updates to fully protect one from the Internet
scams.
I suppose if one pulled the Cat 5 he wouldn't need them. The Internet is
an integral part of my computing functions and is included as a functional
service for the same. Most people need power as a functional service,
though I know of no free services available for that. If I did, I would
certainly tell folks about it.
If some want to limit knowledge about free services, fine...ignore the
information.
One of the reasons for the success of my freeware website is the fact that
it displays a comprehensive picture of available free services as well as
stand alone software and a combination of those in marriages. I get many
positive comments about this as being unique. From free online Tech
support to online storage and many services that combine both software and
service as part of a package.
I think it is silly to flame anyone who posts information about free
services when indeed it may be something all of us may actually want.
Times are changing fast and to set rules that limit knowledge about free
computer products/services/software is akin to trying to keep things in a
box they have no control over. Yes, times are changing fast and
innovative services are being developed at exponetially increasing rates
that marry products, services and software in innovative and beneficial
formats. Many of these are free.
The world I am hearing being described here is "the software may be
discussed, but any information about any form of marriage of service or
service is OT." Stop talking about firewall leak testing, any form of
malware update service, etc. etc. Balderdash.
