I'm sorry, Susan. My question was perfectly serious. The definition of
freeware that you just gave as the accepted definition here does not, in
my view, agree with John's definition. Being as I cannot reconcile the
two definitions for myself, I no longer have any idea of what
constitutes "freeware" here, and therefore have no idea how to avoid
criticism with respect to my participation in this newsgroup, which I
had somehow managed to peaceably engage in for several years now. Since
I do not care to be subject to John's criticism without even being privy
to the ground rules for avoiding it, and since your response leaves me
with the impression that my presence is no longer appreciated here, I
will disappointedly withdraw my participation and not expect to be missed.
