Sounds to me like Norton is the gimmick here. Lavasoft's software is
free, and does a better job. Your outrage would be better placed at
Symantec's doorstep, asking why they're charging you money and causing
performance problems on your desktop without even catching all of the
stuff the freebie alternatives do.
