In chapter 8. both Spybot Search & Destroy an AdAware SE
are recommended.
Did you use BOTH of them and what were the results?
As you seem to be "heavily infested" with spyware,
I advise you urgently to also download, install, update
and scan with SuperAntiSpyware:
http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html
Spybot, AdAware and SuperAntiSpyware are known to be reliable
products and they are certainly not a scam.
(I use all three to do a weekly scan of my PC.)
The products of Norton (Symantec) have a growingly bad reputation,
for being "bloatware" and missing malware found by a lot
of other products.
In your case I would use Spybot AND AdAware AND SuperAntiSpyware
(yes, all three of them) and accept that what they find is real
spyware (malware) invaded on your PC.
Maybe you should quit putting your trust in a product of
Norton (Symantec), specifically the combined products.
There are better AV programs on the market,
even free AV-programs.
