[Update] DVD Flick v.1.2.0

de CoMa 01/15/2007 10:14

DVD Flick
http://dvdflick.sourceforge.net/

DVD Flick is a simple but at the same time powerful
all-in-one DVD Converter and Authoring tool. It can take
several video files stored on your computer and turn
them into a DVD that will play back on your
DVD player, Media Center or Home Cinema Set.
Support for WMV, WMA, MPEG2, FLV, 3GP
and more in latest 1.2.0+ releases.

Version 1.2.0 Final

* Fixed: Bug with muxing subtitles and apostrophes in filenames.
* Fixed: Keep intermediate files option did not work.
* Changed: Tweaked encoding profile settings.
* Changed: Tweaked audio encodingsync settings. Maybe some movies that
previously had desynced audio will now sync properly.
* Changed: A cancel button...
* Changed: No more "official" support for VOB files. Because of a
limitation of the MPEG-TS file format it is not easily possible to
calculate the duration of a VOB file, thus all calculations which need this
are completely wrong and odd results can happen. An "import DVD" feature is
still planned for some later version.

Version 1.2.0 RC 4

* Fixed: Keep encoded files and Two-pass encoding options were not
remembered when pressing Use as defaults. Thanks to Guy Sturgis.
* Fixed: Updated recorder drive detection. External FireWire devices are
detected also now. Thanks to Guy Sturgis.
* Fixed: Overflow error when starting a video encode, depending on the time
of day oddly enough.
* Fixed: Badly reported available disc space on large drives.
* Fixed: Bug with special characters in filenames that would prevent DVD
Author from doing it's job.
* Fixed: Hopefully the not being able to find any recorders error message.
* Fixed: Chaptering did not always create the right amount of chapters.
(Deja vu...)
* Fixed: Recorders are detected again under Windows 2000.
* Fixed: Combining videoaudio sources would result in an out of memory
error.
* Fixed: Cancelling encoding would skip to encoding the next videoaudio
sequence before.
* Changed: Last directory that the user was in when adding a title of
source is now remembered.
* Changed: More clear messages when a project is opened and one of it's
source files has been deletedrenamedmoved.
* Changed: More checks for unsupported encoding formats.
* Changed: File concatenation uses cygwin's cat.exe now to also support > 2
Gb files.

Version 1.2.0 RC 3

* Fixed: If the IMAPI burning COM service was disabled, DVD Flick would
display an error and refuse to load.
* Fixed: Combinging files larger than 2 Gb is now also supported.
* Fixed: Disc space meter was not filled if a custom video bitrate was
selected.
* Fixed: Video was not encoded at the full requested bitrate, which meant
bad quality and finished discs would never be the target size. There should
be a significant quality improvement.
* Fixed: Crash when trying to load unsupported filetypes.
* Fixed: FFMPEG's 2-pass encoding log files are now put into the project's
destination folder.
* Changed: Dropped IMAPI CDDVD burner detection in favour of parsing WMI
PNP strings. Fixes 'Failed to instantiate CDBurn implementation' error as
well as make it possible to enumerate recorders on Windows 2000.
* Changed: More progress indication data during video encoding.
* Changed: Aspect ratio can now also be inferred from the source file if it
is MPEG. Thanks to Evandro Gouveia.
* Changed: Added Square aspect ratio for completeness.
* Changed: Discspace calculation to take into account more muxing overhead
and subtitles.
* Changed: Video sources limitation that they all have to have the same
dimensions and framerate has been removed.

Version 1.2.0 RC 2

* Fixed: Dependency issues on some ActiveX components.
* Fixed: No longer able to burn when no recorders are installed on the
system.
* Fixed: Some possible localization issues (commas and periods). Thanks to
Evandro Gouveia.
* Fixed: Bug where displaying the project settings dialog would crash.
* Changed: Disc space and average video bitrate calculation for a tighter
fit, thanks to Evandro Gouveia.
* Changed: Authored DVDs jump to the next title now and loop back to the
first after the last one. Als fixes some DVD player compatibility problems.
Thanks to Evandro Gouveia.
* Changed: Tweaked maximum bitrates a bit. More maximum bitrate for video
now.
* Changed: Tweaked FFMPEG video encoder for different encoding profiles.
Should give marginally better quality except for the Fastest profile.

Version 1.2.0 RC 1

* Added: File information report is generated when a file is loaded. Saved
to application pathreport.txt.
* Added: The last output directory is now remembered.
* Added: Video aspect ratio is auto-detected now.
* Added: Panavision aspect ratio, which is fit into 16:9 widescreen for
now.
* Added: Redone encoding progress windowlogging.
* Added: Support for WMV, WMA, MPEG2, FLV, 3GP and many others thanks to
FFMPEG. For a full list, see
http://ffmpeg.mplayerhq.hu/ffmpeg-doc.html#SEC20
* Added: Video sources which are MPEG2 and the same width, height and FPS
as the source video will not be re-encoded but rather copied.
* Added: Upon reinstall the old dvdflick.cfg is deleted, and default target
format (PAL or NTSC) is autodetected based on Windows locale info.
* Added: Dorky little info-buttons next to some configurable items.
* Added: ISO image creation and burning to disc using ImgBurn.
* Added: NTSC-Film target for 24 FPS film material.
* Added: Cancel button to interrupt DVD creation process.
* Added: Option to keep encoded audiovideo files for further usage.
* Changed: Abandoned DirectShow, HCEnc, AVISynth and Aften in favour of
FFMPEG. Hopefully the last big internal makeover.
* Changed: Adjusted default disc sizes and added some.
* Changed: Can now only shut down when the DVD creation has finished, under
Windows 2000 and upwards too.
* Fixed: Multiple video sources would repeat the first source instead of
showing the next.
* Fixed: 5.1 or 6 channel AC3 audio used to get encoded to 5 channels.
* Fixed: Problems depending on Windows locale decimal point settings.
* Fixed: Destination folder in use looping message dialog.
