if what you mean is record from internet feeds such as shoutcast and
internet radio feed, Screamer player records and depending how the feed
is will cut it automatically and mane the files. record as mp3, ogg.
you can add your oun live urls to the list and save them as favorites.
there are two players available and i recommend the beta as it creates a
new folder for each station. its for high speed connection though. the
best thing is it is no install. you can set the sound limitations so
station feeds are normalized and no quite one song then blasting the
next.

there are hundreds of stations listed, but two of my favorites i added on
my own.

currently playing and recording is a 128kb mp3 feed from the site Artists
for For Mercy i added. super relaxing music.

ive been enjoying screamer for about a year and a half.

if what you mean is record sounds coming through your sound card use
Audacity. they make a full and portable app. set recording for "what you
hear". this should work for recording any sound stream.
