I only know how to do it in XNews:
Go to "Special>Setup XNews>Misc"; first drop-down menu on the
left-hand, side under "Newsgroup Options" specifies the cross-
post limit.
(What I've never figured out is if "more than 3" means "3 or
more", or "4 or more"....I've always meant to check it, but I
think it means "3 or more".)
